How to take Cipro

Cipro tablets come in 250 mg, 500 mg, and 1000 mg tablets. Unless directed by your doctor, Cipro tablets should be taken twice a day at the same time: once in the morning and once in the evening. Continue taking Cipro even if you start to feel better. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it's time for your next scheduled dose skip it and continue with the next one.
Cipro precautions
DO NOT take Cipro if you have ever experienced a severe reaction with types of antibiotics known as quinolones. Cipro should not be taken with dairy products or calcium-fortified juices. Be careful about driving or operating machinery until you are certain Cipro is not causing dizziness. Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet light while you are taking Cipro. Also, DO NOT take Cipro 2 hours before or 6 hours after taking any one of these products:Supplements Aluminum Calcium Magnesium Iron Zinc Medications Sulcrafate Videx Warfarin Glyburide Phenytoin Other Antacids Multivitamins
Side effects of Cipro
Cipro is well tolerated by most patients. Some of the most common side effects are nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In rare cases allergic reactions have been reported in patients taking Cipro. If you experience an allergic reaction, muscle or joint pain, seizures, swelling of the legs or feet, confusions or hallucinations, shortness of breathe, or chest pains stop taking Cipro and seek medication attention immediately.
