Meltabs description

This medication is used to treat male sexual function problems (erection problems).Although both Sildenafil Citrate Meltabs and ViagraŽ contain the same active ingredient (Sildenafil Citrate), they are not the same. That's because ViagraŽ is a pill that you have to digest, and as with all pills, it's slowly absorbed into the stomach lining before entering the blood stream. Sildenafil Citrate Meltabs dissolve in your mouth, which allows them to enter your blood stream much faster.

How to take Meltabs

Sildenafil Citrate Meltabs become active in the blood stream within 15 minutes. Take one pill 10-15 minutes before sexual activity.

Meltabs precautions

Tell your doctor of all nonprescription and prescription medication you may use, especially of: nitrate medications (e.g., nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate), nitroprusside (any "nitric oxide donor" medicines), cimetidine, erythromycin, azole antifungals (e.g., itraconazole, ketoconazole), mibefradil, rifamycins (e.g., rifampin), high blood pressure medicines, certain HIV protease inhibitors (such as saquinavir, ritonavir, amprenavir), delavirdine. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Side effects of Meltabs

Headache, flushing, stomach upset, nasal stuffiness, diarrhea and dizziness might occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Unlikely but report promptly: painful or other urination problems, vision problems, skin rash. Very unlikely but report promptly: chest pain, fainting, foot or ankle swelling. If you experience a painful or prolonged erection (lasting longer than 4 hours), stop using this drug and seek immediate medical attention. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Overdose: If you suspect a Meltabs overdose

If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include severe dizziness, fainting, or prolonged erection.
